Happy Anniversary

Here is my design of the week for Dies R Us! I have been trying to create a stash of cards for all occasions, so I can calmly go to the stash, pick out a card and send it on it's way. As you know life is not that simple, so here is an anniversary card I designed for my Aunt and Uncle, not quite at the last minute but darn close!
This simple card uses a background stamp from Hero Arts and the music stamp is from Kaiser Craft. The Happy Anniversary sentiment is stamped on a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklet 1. The blue sprigs are cut using Nature's Song by Penny Black. I used Glossy Accents on each of the sprig ends to add texture.

Beach Party

Hi everyone! This is my July challenge design for the Dies R Us "Day at the Beach" challenge! My inspiration came from Graphic 45 "By the Sea" paper and from Cheery Lynn dies.

The Cheery Lynn Chicken Wire die, which reminded me of a fishing net, was cut to fit the background. The detail in the Sea Horse die was brought out by sponging a little Tea Dye Distress ink over the indentations.

The sentiment, from Waltzingmouse, was stamped with Tuxedo Black. I added the hemp twine with a nautical knot and the Cheery Lynn Starfish and Sand Dollar dies were used as embellishments.

Stop by the DRU Challenge Blog and see what great designs our team members have come up with. And, while you are there, why not post one of your "Day at the Beach" creations? We have 2 challenges a month and our challenges are listed several months ahead!

Christmas in July

Happy Thursday everyone! Robin here with my inspiration design for Dies R Us!  Back in the first of June Mikha, one of our design team members, thought it would be fun to have a week of Christmas in July! Why not? I'm sure most of us could use a little push to start thinking about our holiday cards.

This card uses Taylored Expressions Color Block Cutting Plate.  This die set comes with ELEVEN dies, wow!!! There is an overall grid die, which is the white outline in my card, and the rest of the dies all fit in the grid.  You can mix and match to your hearts content.

At Dies R Us shipping is FREE when you spend $35 or more! That's a bargain, so if you shop online check out DRU!

Until next week, thanks for stopping by,

First Birthday!

Happy Thursday everyone! Here is my inspiration design of the week for Dies R Us! One of my friends asked me to make a birthday card for her great granddaughter, Olivia, who will turn one in August; I couldn't possibly say no!
I used Echo Park's "Bundle of Joy" paper pad for the floral and stripe. The edge of the pink dotted paper was cut with Impression Obsession's Border Duo 2 and the edges were sponged with Distress Ink. Next I cut the white Floral Eyelet Border, from Taylored Expressions, and added it between the floral and striped paper. I used two of the dies from Taylored Expressions, Tag Stacklets 1 to make my layered tag.  The flower was made using Elizabeth Craft Big Flowers 1 and Flower Set 2.  My greenery is from the Penny Black die set called Leaves and the name Olivia was cut using Impression Obsession's Alphabet Typewriter UC and Alphabet Typewriter LC.  I glued the letters onto a vellum homemade tag and attached with clear foam tape.  To finish the card I added two butterflies made from Memory Box Pippi Butterfly and Isabella Butterfly dies and added a small button for the center of the flower.
