Any Day Bouquet

Where is the time going? Mother's Day is May 11, just giving you a heads up! You have plenty of time to make a few cards and with just a change of sentiment this card can be used for many occasions.

I used Taylored Expressions Tag Stacklet 1 and Impressions Obsessions Border Duo 1 as background elements. The Garden Watering Can die from Memory Box was shaded with a grey Copic marker. The flowers were cut from Memory Box Blushing Bouquet die. By using a patterned paper and coloring the stems and leaves with a Copic marker the bouquet came together easily.

The detail in these dies is amazing! I love the little holes in the watering can and in the centers of the flowers. A Pippi Butterfly die coupled with the Isabella Butterfly make a beautiful embellishment.

The card was finished with a twine bow and a sentiment stamped on Impression Obsession's Flags die.

Hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Spring is in the Air

Happy Thursday!  Here is my Dies R Us design of the week. This week I chose to use Memory Box Toulouse Background and Impression Obsession's Square Cutout Border dies as my starting point for my card. Having a die, like the Toulouse Background, with a frame built in makes designing a card easy; it's almost done before you know what happened.  The Square Cutout Border reminded me of a lattice fence so I used it behind the Toulouse die with a contrast piece of CS underneath.

I incorporated the long leaf stems into the Square Cutout Border with a few snips here and there, just to make it look like they were growing through the lattice. TIP: Don't hesitate to trim or snip your die cuts to fit your design or idea.

A strip of heavy weight vellum was stamped with a simple sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps. My card base is one of my favorites from Neenah, called Columns; a simple texture in the CS that adds that little something.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way...

Hi, Robin here, with my weekly design for DRU. Dies R Us is an on line "super store" for all you die-a-holics!  Great selection, prices and shipping is free with a $35 purchase!

This Easter card is created with several dies and it was fun to see it take shape. I started with Taylored Expression's Wicker Pocket die; the die has embossing lines to look like the basket had been woven. I highlighted the lines, on the basket, with a light colored pencil and then used Tattered Lace - Ivy die for the greenery.

Next I designed the background using Impression Obsession's Border Duo 1 for a lacy effect and adhered the background to my card base. I attached the basket with foam pop ups and added brightly colored eggs (made with an oval punch).

What would Easter be without BUNNIES? I was at a stamp show a few weeks ago and saw some white crepe paper that reminded me of BUNNY fur. I cut the bunnies using Poppystamps Chocolate Bunny and Grand Bunny dies from the crepe paper and also from white card stock to make them more ridged. I did try gluing the crepe paper to the white CS BEFORE cutting out, but the crepe paper flattened out going through the die cut machine and I lost that fur look. After gluing the crepe paper to the card stock the bunnies were sponged and a small black gem was added for eyes.

The card was finished with a bow made from netting and ribbon. I added a pretty pink brad to the center of a button which was glued to the bow.  The sentiment, Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday, was cut using the same punch used for the eggs.

Until next week… thanks for stopping by!
